In 2016, an energetic young couple from Campbell River, British Columbia, attended a Kitchen Charm cooking demonstration. Little did they know that Kitchen Charm would soon become part of their wedding story. Today, representatives from the Canadian branch of this cookware company discuss 2016 Dream Honeymoon winners Brandy and Calvin.

Q: Thank you for stepping out of the kitchen long enough to chat with us today.

Kitchen Charm: We’re very excited to be here, and share Brandy and Calvin’s story.

Q: Let’s get right to it then, shall we? How did the two wind up entering the 2016 Kitchen Charm Dream Honeymoon contest?

Kitchen Charm: Not long before the contest came to an end, the two visited a cooking demonstration together. They actually walked away with a nice set of cookware that evening.

Q: Which one filled out the registration?

Kitchen Charm: Calvin! We have a feeling that he was secretly planning his honeymoon while he was entering the contest.

Q: What did they win?

Kitchen Charm: The couple won a honeymoon to Costa Rica to visit the luxurious Secrets Papagayo resort.

Q: That’s a far cry from Canada…

Kitchen Charm: It is, and they are really looking forward to settling down in the sun for a few days.

Q: Will they be getting married on the beach?

Kitchen Charm: No, the couple had an simple and charming wedding on the river in their hometown. They sent us some of the pictures.

Q: What was unique about their wedding day?

Kitchen Charm: We’re not sure that you would call it unique, but it was unusual in that it actually started pouring rain the day of their nuptials.

Q: That’s right, 2016 was a particularly dry summer up north.

Kitchen Charm: Yes, it was. However, despite initial devastation over the weather, the two decided not to let a little rain get in the way of their happiness.

Q: Did they have to move things indoors?

Kitchen Charm: Thankfully, no. Brandy tells us that it miraculously stopped raining as guests began to arrive. The rest of the day featured blue skies and perfect conditions.

Q: How did Brandy incorporate her personal tastes into the ceremony?

Kitchen Charm: Brandy has a very colorful personality, which shone through in her bridesmaids dress selection. Each of the five had on a different color in the most beautiful shades of pink, blue, yellow, green, and lavender.

Q: And Brandy’s dress?

Kitchen Charm: She matched her bridesmaids in length and style, sporting a flattering, strapless gown. She chose a traditional white, which made for a perfect picture.

Q: And the reception? What was different about it?

Kitchen Charm: In the true style of the Kitchen Charm cookware user, Brandy nixed the traditional fare and opted for a cream cheese frosted carrot cake.
